I`m using Zotero for collecting all kind of stuff from the web and from PubMed. It`s definitely worth a try. I am surfing with Firefox only, and the main reason for that is Zotero (besides Adblock Plus, Tab Mix Plus, BetterPrivacy, Certifcate Patrol, NoScript, Stylish). A standalone version of Zotero has been announced.

My wife has started studying again and uses the Zotero web service to synchronize her references, PDFs, Openoffice-Docs etc. between her two PCs.

Below two references out of Zotero in AMA-style.
