[Papyrus-L] latex and papyrus

In the past I have always put up with translating the Papyrus foreign 
characters to latex equivalent when preparing a bibliography for 
publication. We see that it does not take kindly to putting them in the 
original names, though it seems to tolerate them ok in the title.  Its 
there a way to convince Papyrus to accept other characters to avoid this 
manual editing each time?  e.g. Chassefi\`{e}re
