My understanding from our office system guru is that Windows XP has
horrendus overhead in doing very unecessary actions. We have not switched
any of our systems to XP but instead continue in Windows 2000
Professional. You may wish to upgrade to this system.

He also advised against going to XP until Microsoft deals with some issues
that have already been solved in 2000.

I continue to use Windows ME on my home system and no cursor jiggling or
other problems ensue with Papyrus.
