[Papyrus-L] help for a real novice, please

we recently purchased the papyrus software and our IT consultant loaded it for us. he's been back since to reload it, but I'm still having problems trying to get started. the first screen that comes up asks me if I want to create a fresh database. I say yes and it defaults to a location, but won't accept that location. I've tried to change the location and it won't accept that either. I get an error message that says "either someone is is using the papyrus database in this directory (NOT) or you are not allowed to create new files here (NOT) or there is no such directory (NOT). Is this something to do with the path? I've read the manual but can't seem to get past this. Hoping someone can help - Many thanks, Kim

A different programme that pretended to substitute Papyrus. Excellent,
but it still has not a way to rationally store your notecards.
