I was using netscape.net (unfortunately assimilated by AOL now) before, but it was not respecting my "new line" character, bunching all the text together, so I switched to the Yahoo account that I've had for at least one decade. Not that it is perfect, because it is also chewing up one LFCR, so I put in two so that the post looks like what you are reading now.

Not to mention that I have various email accounts that I need to maintain. In fact, I created the Yahoo account because I took a course and the college was using a Yahoo group (back when it was actually a good idea).

I'm only going to chime in on this once in the interest of avoiding
diverting too far off topic.

Wearing my hat as an email server administrator with hundreds of
unrelated tenants, I can honestly say that Yahoo is the bane of my
existence. They randomly stop accepting random email for apparently
random reasons for random lengths of time with no useful feedback about
why or how to resolve it. It's worse for messages being forwarded to
Yahoo, but it's not restricted to forwarded messages.

In other words, if you're interested in reasonably reliable email
reception, especially if you're forwarding messages there from other
email addresses, Yahoo is not currently a particularly good choice these
days. Of course, your mileage may vary.
