A MPI locking plate works well to prevent this sort of damage. A kind person gave me one at the previous CoCo fest. It is nothing more than a thin piece of plywood with holes drilled in it that are exactly the size of the MPI and CoCo case feet and it works well. I just place the CoCo 3 and the MPI on the plate, the feet fit into the holes and gravity does the rest.
