Ed is correct. There will be a special version that ignores the memory on the DE1 board. The DE1 board is available on eBay ocassionally. I just picked one up last week. They are usually available at the end of the school year. Some colleges use this board in one of their classes. These are generally in good shape with minimum wear.

Hi Dave,
I think that is correct.  Maybe Gary can verify.
Digikey has about 70 of DE1s in stock for $156.25 + shipping.  WhichI believe beats Terasic’s price when you factor in their somewhat expensive shipping.<http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/terasic-inc/P0528/P0528-ND/1833602>
Of course, Dave Philipsen may be able to supply one as well.
Tim Linder is helping out with getting top plates made.  These should turn out asreally nice looking finished packages!  :)

Ed,

Those boards look nice :D

Got a question though.  If we were to buy one of the brand new Altera DE-1
boards can we just disable the onboard RAM to get around the timing issue
with the RAM on the new boards and just entirely use the RAM off of this
add-on board?

Hello everyone,

I finally received test PCBs back for the CoCo3 FPGA Analog board. I'll
definitely be using the faster shipping option on the main run.

Anyway, these are coming together very nicely. I some of the remaining
parts on the way to assemble one of these. If the testing goes well,
there will be just a few small tweaks on positioning a couple of items,
and the main run can be ordered.

I'm missing a couple of standoffs that are on the way, but you can get the
idea of how this will look from the pics.

After the run is completed, I think it would be nice to have some acrylic
top sheets cut for our DE-1s. :)
