Hi All!

Well guys, I am finally up and running with HDB-DOS v1.4 DW3 Coco 3 image in
the floppy controller on my Coco 3 and it's communicating with my Drivewire
4 Server running on my Windows 7 desktop computer perfectly! In fact, I'm
running HDB-DOS v1.4 DW3 Coco 1 in my Disto Super Controller on my 64K Coco
1 as well and it communicates with Drivewire 4 Server as well.

You ask why don't you run HDB-DOS DW4 Coco 3 in your Coco 3? Well I'm glad
you asked that question because I think Bill Gordon and I have found a bug
in HDB-DOS v1.4 DW4 Coco 3! He nor I can't connect to DW4 Server at all
with the DW4 driver in HDB-DOS v1.4! HDB-DOS v1.4 DW3 Coco 3 connects to
DW4 server perfectly, but HDB-DOS v1.4 DW4 Coco 3 does not! Would one or
more people who can verify this please try to verify this and let us all
know your findings?

Bill Gordon used HDBDW4CC3.bin which of course he loaded from disk and
executed for the test. I burnt an eprom with HDBDW4CC3.rom, installed it
into my Hard Drive Specialists Floppy Controller, booted Drivewire 4 Server
on my Windows 7 mini-tower computer, setup up a cocoboot2.dsk test disk in
DW4 drive 0 in HDB-DOS Translation mode, did a DIR command and all I got
was an ?IO Error! When I tried this with HDB-DOS v1.4 DW3 Coco 3 I received
a perfect directory display of the Cocoboot2.dsk image and was even able to
boot Cocoboot2.

I have been working trying to solve this problem for literally months! I'm
glad this is finally over and I can begin to find out and enjoy this
wonderful program set that has been given to us all! I've said it many
times over the years - Never tell a Coco user something is impossible
because WE WILL FIGURE OUT A WAY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! To All who had any part
to play in the creation, development and testing of HDB-DOS and all its
predecessors, a hearty round of applause and a big thank you for a job very
well done! I eagerly look forward to the many new innovations coming our
way for our beloved Cocos! Take Care my friends!

Kip
