[Coco] MESS issues

I also use MESS, find it to be the best option out there mostly do the
awesome debugger.
However, I have seen problems very much like what you describe while
working in B09 on a real coco.
Sometimes things just 'go wrong' and need a reboot, even on the real thing :)
