This is getting more and more interesting..  In desperation, I fired up my 
real CoCo 3 with Boisy's HDB-DOS DW ROM.  When I type 'DOS' it starts to 
load OS-9 from the server and freezes.

Here's the part that doesn't make sense:

In order to get even that far, it MUST be exchanging DW protocol messages 
and data packets with the DW4 server.  However, the server is set to log 
ALL to console and I see precisely nothing appear!

How could this be happening?
