Yes, I understand this. I stated that I had tried the same with the Keil 
emulator, without success. You response seemed (to me) to imply that I had 
some sort of control over how "my" emulator handled OS9 disks. AFAIK, the 
emulator makes absolutely no distinction whatsoever. And quite frankly, I'm 
surprised that MESS does as well. If indeed it does, it should be fixed, 
because it's a pretty crappy hack.

FWIW I have since discovered that Mr Keil offers a set of OS9 L1 disks for 
download on his site that do appear to boot. They all have a ".DSK" extension.

However, I am interested in building an OS9 system from the 'official' disks 
that I have downloaded. I also need to do this on an emulator that supports 
the IDE interface. Hence my persistence with the Keil emulator.

Feel free to ignore if you find me annoying.
