[Coco] DDJ license?

So, this curses subset I've been working on was originally published
in Dr. Dobbs Journal in 1987.

I have googled to find out if I'm actually legally allowed to port and
re-release it, but all I can find are refrences to the TinyBASIC
Copyleft, "all wrongs reserved".  In '79, it seems that the magazine
that would become DDJ was very much open-source friendly.

Was that still true in 1987?

Anybody know?
