I go back to Jan 27 2002 I believe.  By mbox, do you mean a merged file, or a 
directory tree?  What I have is in mailfile format, and it just under 2.5GB 
megabytes.  This is plain text for the most part although we did have MIME 
even back then. :)

Looking at it with mc, I could do a head -n12011150 on it and gzip that, which 
when unpacked would be to the end of Oct 2003.

How big is your inbox (at your ISP that is :)  That is 240 megabytes before 
gzipping.  A bit over 53 megs smunched by gzip -c, but that will then be 
base64'd for transit, about 65 megs IIRC.

And I'd need your private address of course.
