Some of the software that comes with the cards allows you to adjust the time shift to synch the write times to your HD and the broadcast. I found a Phillips chip set based card on e-bay that has good reviews I won and sent for it. I have a spare 160GB HD that I can use to record football games (Go Seahawks!) as well as using the card for my vintage systems.

When just watching, seems to be no delay. Delay for buffering and encoding kicks in when recording. I suspect keystrokes will transfer immediately as I am not going to try recording a(nother) failure at Dungeons of Daggorath. I'll know after the weekend unless La Esposa drags me down to the Balloon Festival.

Well, if you're gonna buy a ticket on the Titanic, you might as well go First Class.
