I wouldn't assume that, though I'm not a lawyer.  Seems to me that as long as
you fulfill your end of the contract (i.e., pay the required fees to the
estate), the estate would have no grounds to void the agreement unless there is
something in the contract that provides for it.  Otherwise, weird things could
happen:  suppose a studio pays me a million dollars for the movie rights to my
book, and the next day I die.  Does that mean they're screwed out of a million
bucks?
