PORT doesn't know how to read or write files to an OS-9 disk. You need
to use imgtool (included with MESS) or cocotools (if you can compile
your own software).

If PORT tries to write to a OS-9 formatted disk, it'll prolly ruin it.

The floppy controller in MESS isn't fully implemented:

If you do a "logical" format in NitrOS-9 (under MESS) it'll work without
complaining.
