If my memory serves me right, I think the main problem of 50Hz vs 60Hz was
that it caused the screen on the TV or monitor to roll madly. If you had the
controls on the TV to adjust that, you were OK. That, and of course it
didn't keep correct time. I don't believe it had any other ill effects.
