[Coco] Potentiometer question

The fact that it says "10K" on it probably means it's a 10K pot.  If 
you're going to replace it anyway, just remove it and measure the two 
ends of the pot with an ohmmeter and see what you get.  That will tell 
you it's value unless it's completely trashed (unlikely). The only other 
thing to know is whether it's audio taper or linear taper.  You can 
generally figure that out by checking one end against the wiper and 
operating the pot.  If the resistance changes linearly it's a linear pot....
