[Papyrus-L] Special letters and Win XP

Dear fellow Papyrus users,

I am in the process of switching from Win 98 to XP Professional (a jump!), and I have discovered some problems writing any kind of non-English letters and symbols. For example, the letter 'e' with an accent above, simply comes out as an 'e' (with no accent). I have references and other text in several European languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Danish, in my Papyrus database. But also lots in English ;-) As I have more than 10,000 references in my Papyrus database, losing the option of writing such 'special letters' (also known as diacritics) would be very bad indeed, and furthermore all such letters in my database will be changed to other letters if I don't solve the problem.

I simply copied my *.bib files and the system files to the new pc, but then decided it was best to reinstall Papyrus from the web site. During the the reinstallation, I replaced old files with new ones whenever asked, but I think it was mostly library files, etc.

I would be most grateful for any hints on where to find help with this, or indeed on what to do.

Please reply to fpbrammer at snm.ku.dk

Thanks very much in advance,

Frederik
