Dave,

could you think about supporting Lyx? Lyx is a graphical, easy to use
frontend for Latex. I think, it has great potential, because it is
multi-platform (including Apple, Linux, Windows), free and finally makes
Latex available for the masses (= users outside mathematics and
engineering). It started on Linux, I think, but the version for Windows is
quite stable now. I have started writing my thesis with it and it is fun to
use. Lyx comes with nice help files.

Who wants to know what Latex is about:

Word Processors: Stupid and Inefficient

And the Lyx data files are pure ASCII and similar to Latex. The community
it quite supportive:

All you need to install a Latex/Lyx system for Windows can be found here:

One caveat: For this lyx-version all lyx files and the files of helper
programs (e. g. ghostscript, acrobat) should be installed in pathes without
spaces in the name (as written in the installation guide on the mentioned
page above).

Thanks
