Betreft: Re: [Papyrus-L] Future Papyrus

I agree in spirit with everything I've seen. However, I think part of the
problem is OVERSPECIFICATION of the new windows version of Papyrus. If we
omit all the bells and whistles, I'll bet we really only need a few extras.
We need a cure for the W2K woes (jumping cursor problem, clipboard problem,
are there others?), we need compatibility with the latest Word and possibly
other word processors, and we need the ongoing attention to citation
formats.

Dave, is a "less ambitious" version for Windows possible?

I agree as well. We have found it invaluable and far superior to anything
else on the market.

I agree with Jan Broer completely.
The fact is, Papyrus has been so powerful in preparing manuscripts that most
of us have not yet moved to the other softwares. Although I have appreciated
Dave's policy in pricing Papyrus, I will be glad to pay a reasonable amount
for the new version.

Many current Papyrus user are inclined to continue using some form of a
modernised version of this software. Please do not wait too long before many
users may switch to reference management software.

Evidently, the large majority is willing to pay for an improved version.
I certainly am prepared to pay a reasonable amount of developing money.
Dave, please consider if the effort is worth it.
Many many users would be grateful.
