I am having a strange issue with tone decoding. I have an NHRC-3 with a
TS-32 connected. It is working fine to decode the tone when keying the
repeater, but sending it through seems to be an issue. I am also using a GE
Mstr II radio.
 
I believe the tone, or at least some remnant of it. When I set my Yaesu VX-7
HT to T SQL mode, set the PL to the same tone being sent to the repeater,
the squelch is tripped when the repeater is keyed and the radio passes the
audio. The courtesy tone is suppressed, which is desirable in this case.
 
However, when I do the same thing with an Icom 206 mobile and a Kenwood
TM-733, I am not able to bypass the squelch. If I transmit on simplex to the
radio on the repeater's output, it works, but not going through the
repeater.
 
I was trying to get this function to work so that I can set up a clean
repeater link using EchoLink.
