CoCoTALK Live! News stories for Episode 284, October 22, 2022
================================================
(October 15-October 21)
Collected by L. Curtis Boyle

Coco 1/2/3 (and multi-platform)
-------------------------------
1) James Diffendaffer posted a BASIC source code update for his "Fedora
3D Plot" program, incorporating both his 6809 multiply patch and 6309
native mode:
  https://jdiffendaffer.blogspot.com/2022/10/fedora-3d-plot-update.html

2) Color Computer Programing on YouTube did a quick video showing some
page flipping animated to show a 3Dish ball bouncing:
  https://youtu.be/ISCfowlbFMo

3) Ken Waters (alias Canadian Retro Things) - in a Halloweeny mood -
put up part 1 of his "My Cursed Coco 3" video series - if things that
went wrong when trying to upgrade a Coco 3:

4) Speaking of upgrading Coco's - The Taylor and Amy show released a
video showing the 6309 upgrade to their Coco 2, and a real time running
of Mandelbrot sets:

MC-10
-----
1) Jim Gerrie did a quick little program (with some suggestions from
Greg Dionne) showing him moving a little text tie fighter under
keyboard control, but sensing more than 1 key at a time so that you can
move diagonally, as well as key repeat. The entire program is show on
screen at the beginning:

Dragon 32/64
------------
1) Julian Brown found an issue with his current duplication of the
Dragon 32 motherboard - the cassette motor relay footprint is reversed.
It is testable in this state; unfortunately it does mean that he needs
at least one more board revision:

He also got an update on the EDAC edge connector with mounting point
lugs - he found place to get the part cheaper, but a lead time of 10-12
weeks:

2) The Retrogames Show episode 6 has a section on a bunch of Dragon
software that he received, including some rarer titles (according to
the host, anyways):

3) John Whitworth (who is stepping away from DragonPlus Electronics for
a month or two as he undergoes his next round of treatment) did set up
a Github repository for the Dragon Beta (including Gerber files, Disk
images, PAL/GAL documentation, etc.) :

Game On news (all Coco related platforms):
==========================================
1) Retro Hack Shack has returned (a little late for SepTandy due to
hand surgery) with a "LETS PLAY" episode, with 3 official arcade game
ports sold by Radio Shack - Rampage, Predator and Robocopy:

2) Tim & AJ of Sibling Rivalry were live at the Portland Retro Gaming
Expo last weekend, and they did a live stream on Sunday morning playing
some Coco games from the show floor, featuring gameplay of Pitstop II &
LeMans (the latter finally with some skidding physics) (they also did
some other streams for the Intellivision and Atari 2600 if you want to
check those out):

And as of yesterday, the MC-10 version as well:
