[Coco] CoCo 1 troubles

 Thank you again Rick!

The cable I have is flat. No twists.

I see a bunch of chips, but none of them are 7406 or 7416. I see one 7407 in position 7.

I connected the drive to the outermost connector of the cable and the system recognized it as drive 1. I was able to start a DSKINI1, but it did not finish, producing an IO ERROR after it finished stepping 34 times. I suspect that the next step is to swap out the cable.

If the cable has a few wires mid cable that are twisted, then position
matters. If it is flat all the way thru, it does not.  But DIR 0 DIR 1
should have worked either way.

There are two line driver chips (7406 or 7416) that are easily killed.
So much so, CoNect had a SKU to socket & replace those back in the day.
Push comes to shove, I'd question those first.
