I have a pre-customized version of the Zimodem firmware for the ESP8266-12E devkit.

I looked up steps to install firmware directly, without needing to load the Arduino IDE and download source code and build it…

I will be maintaining a slight fork of the official code that will have the RS-232 signal defaults set to standard (HIGH/LOW) instead of Commodore (LOW/HIGH).

I also modified the over-the-air update to load the binary from my website. Once you install a copy, you should only need to do “AT&U=3.4” (or whatever version we get up to) when I build a new update from Bo Zimmerman’s code.

Instructions for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux:

I will also be posting a full article summarizing everything I have learned about RS-232, the RS-232 Pak, Zimodem and more, this week.

Once this is done, I can finally get to work on porting FTP, IRC, WGET, etc. ;-)

Anyone here a Commodore programmer? If so, would you like to help port?
