More happy news. The ZIMODEM firmware that makes the WiFi chip look like a smart modem also has support for multiple connections. It turns out, there are programs in BASIC for the Commodore to do:
IRC chat
FTP file transfers
WGET webpage retrieval
TELNET and TELNETD for incoming and outgoing connections
And a thing that retrieves an emulator disk image from the internet and puts it on a real disk.
We plan to port them to the CoCo, for RS-DOS, but they would probably be even easier to write under OS-9/BASIC09.
Fun stuff! The device even supports hardware flow control so I’ll be getting a different RS232 adapter that has those lines supported.
