Hi Gene,
Many years ago, I had the task of formatting a 1.2MB 5 1/4" floppy with an IBM format, normally used in 8" disks. I found that I had to toss the INT 13h BIOS routine and write my own to be able to format the floppy. Is there a chance that a special format/read/write routine is necessary so that a CoCo floppy drive can be read by a PC?
Regards, Salvador

That is not normally a problem, but this mobo, a nearly $300 Asus now a
bit over a decade old, has some sort of a super chip FDC on it, and just
putting a 256 byte sector formatted disk in any fdc attached drive, will
lock this machine up tight, needing a full powerdown to reboot it..
