Ron, I assume you're using the "DriveWire4 4.3.4e" version that Aaron never officially released. This version was sent to a few Coco software developers for testing a few years ago, and, at the time, was the forerunner to the never finished "DriveWire5".
This version of DW4 is the ONLY version I will use. Some things are broken from the official release, but the addition of several features (one being the multiple instances) made it well worth the sacrifice.
The V-Port Sniffer alone was invaluable to me in development of DW4Man, Sound Chaser, and eventually, MShell.
Once you understand how to setup the DW4 config file for multiple instances (simple copy and paste), it's easy to setup any number of instances. I think the most I've had at one time has been 8 instances, which included 4 Cocos (1x Coco1, 2x Coco2s, and a Coco3), 2x VCC, 1x Mame, & 1x XRoar.
The first thing that people should know is that this version of DW4 does NOT allow "inter-networking" (communication) between instances, but does allow the instances to share VHDs/DSKs, which allows me to move test programs from my VCC development system, immediately to my Coco3 for testing.
At one point I had thought of talking to Aaron about releasing this publicly, but then realized there would need to be a manual (of some sort) for the new features (or answering never ending questions) and being one of the few who knew how it worked, I didn't have the time. I guess maybe it's time to revisit this project and see if some sort of documentation could be assembled and maybe post a release somewhere (Aaron?).
Here is a couple of screenshots of the console:
