[Coco] An OFF THE WALL question..........

The main reason I root all of my devices is to allow me to remove the factory bloatware. This frees up space and speeds up the system.
Another noticeable benefit is the ability to throttle the CPU
Root privilege gives you the same low level administrative privilege you get with Linux on your PC

Rooting is simply the process of flashing a custom firmware (rom) that will give you access to the Linux kernel.

You don't need root access to use the OTG and a hard drive
If want to overclock then u do. Rooting is very simple to do with a custom firmware flash

BTW. Most solid harddrives will work with OTG without the HUB because of the minimal power consumption

Just one more note: After watching the video, I see that the author roots the phone. I am unfamiliar with this, but I saw other videos that do not require this. These videos are available from the same page referenced in the previous post. Have a look at various videos to get an idea of what you want to do and are comfortable doing. Personally, I would probably avoid rooting until I understood it well enough and knew that it wouldn't corrupt my phone's environment. Salvador

This video demonstrates the process, and among other considerations, what Rietveld mentioned.

Hi everyone,
I've got kind of an "OFF THE WALL" question I need help with.
Recently I tried to hook up an Android Tablet to an external SATA 4TB HD (in a Dual SATA to USB Adapter I happen to have) using a OTG (or is it an OGT Cable) and the Android Tablet refused to connect. My question is this: Is there a size limitation (on an External HD using this method) that the Tablet (or Android) will support???
Thanks guys...
Joe...
