[Coco] HDBDOS And Word Processors

I just confirmed that TS-Edit for DECB does indeed work with HDBDOS and DriveWire. I tested with VCC 2.01 using hdbdw3bck.rom (HDB-DOS 1.4 BECKER COCO3)

Unfortunately the stock version of TS-Edit for DECB is a Coco2 program with a maximum of 51 columns on a PMODE4 screen (which runs fine on a Coco3). I was not able to determine if there is a version hacked to use the Coco3 hardware 80 column mode or not.

I guess you are talking about Editors for DECB but the TS-Edit version for OS-9 also works fine. There is a patched version called “vi” which works in OS-9/Nitros9 Level 2 and does use 80 columns. I use this editor exclusively on Nitros9 since for quick editing jobs it’s too much trouble to spend 5 minutes to learn a new editor just for a 5 second editing job in any “vi” clone.

TS-Edit is on the ColorComputer archive and contains both the stock DECB and OS9 versions and the manual:
http://www.colorcomputerarchive.com/search.php?q=T-S+Edit <http://www.colorcomputerarchive.com/search.php?q=T-S+Edit>

I don’t see “vi” on ColorComputer archive. I’d be happy to upload it if it’s truly not there as it is a bit involved to produce a freshly patched one from the original TS-Edit for OS-9.
