Maybe it is a Yahoo! mail to lists server... that looks terrible when it came back... will paste as just a text message and try again.....

Please note the phone number was for our clubs BBS in the day...wow FLASHBACK!!!!

-----------------

SUPER VOICE MOD

This file will aid you in the modification of the Speech Systems Super Voice
program pack. As previously designed the SSI-263's internal registers were
decoded from $ff80-$ff84. This caused no problem on the CoCo 1 and 2 because
this was a reserved area in the memory map. When the CoCo 3 came out this area
was still reserved but due to the new PAL or satellite board in the multipak the
new address decoding would not allow the speech pak to be selected. I have
modified the hardware and software to the mapped area of $ff60-$ff64.

When making these modifications ESD(electrical static discharge) procedures
should be followed. For my references IC2=74LS133 and IC3=74LS138. When the
traces are being removed please allow enough of a trace path for placement of
a wire.
-----------------------------
| Removes : (trace cuts)|
-----------------------------
IC2 pin1
IC2 pin 10

IC3 pin 3
IC3 pin 5

--------------------------------
| Add (jumpers) |
--------------------------------
| FROM | TO |
--------------------------------
IC2 pin 1 | Pin 25 CoCo Bus
IC2 pin 10 | Pin 24 "" ""
IC3 pin 3 | IC3 pin 8
IC3 pin 5 | Pin 26 CoCo Bus

The software program to modify the "Supertok/bin" program is "Voicemod/bas".
After loading "Voicemod", just place the Speech Systems disk in drive 0 and
run the program. After completion run the "Speak" program to verify that the
hardware mods were performed properly.
The program "Hello/bas" lines should be edited as follows :

Line 290 83 to 63
Line 300 80 to 60, 83 to 63
Line 310 84 to 64
Line 320 FF,81 to FF,61
Line 330 82 to 62, 83 to 63
Line 340 80 to 60, 80 to 60
Line 1000 FF80 to FF60
Line 1010 FF81 to FF61
Line 1020 FF82 to FF62
Line 1030 FF83 to FF63
Line 1040 FF84 to FF64

All of the other programs use the "Supertok/bin" file. Any comments should be
directed to me at TC^3 (612) 422-0824 300/1200/2400 8N1, Mark Marlette.

Tim,
As others have indicated it is a no go without modifications. The IOmap is in conflict, thus a reason when the map says reserved, to keep out.... :) Detailed explanation below.

I do have this working on a CC3. I did this back prior to moving to Delano, which was in 1996.
I went to my repository and pulled the document up..... Here is it pasted here. I was very young at the time so, I am surprised I documented at all! :)
I will send you the .doc file via PM.
I always wondered where my SV pak went as I thought I never sold it. This year at the fest going through the four totes of paks and boxes trying to sort them it was found and pulled. It was right there and so were you!!!! :)

Note sure how this will convert through the list server, pasted good on this end.....

Is the Real Talker cartridge compatible with the CoCo 3?

I typed in the small sample program from the manual and it did not work.

I'm hoping it just isn't compatible with the CoCo 3.

Anyone know?

I'd test with a CoCo 2 but I don't have one at the moment.
