[Coco] IP packets on my coco

That sounds like a good way to go about it and keep things the same between the two,
but looking at the DE2 user manual schematics, they use a DM9000A and about 25 IO pins.

We wouldn’t have enough pins to replicate that interface unfortunately. We could do just a transceiver
or a Ethernet controller with a serial interface like the ENC424J600 or similar..

One of the nice things about the DE-2 is that it has an onboard ethernet interface. I currently have two DE-2s and another two are due to arrive this week. Gary now has a DE-2 as well. If nothing else, we could use the exact same circuit that is on the DE2 and replicate it on the expansion port of the analog board. That way it would be easy to support TCP/IP on either the DE-1 or DE-2.
