For what it's worth, in 1984 I paid $256 for a bare bones 64k CoCo II,
$399 for my first 156k disk drive and $299 for the second, well over
$100 for the MPI. I do not remember what I paid for the 128k CoCo 3, but
I do remember paying $250 for the 512k upgrade. By the time I finished,
I had almost $4K tied up in those systems. So given inflation, $300 is
still less than they were worth then. <sigh> ya know what they say
about a fool and his money 8-). BTW, that remark is pointed at ME and
nobody else.
