[Coco] vcc info

Hi,

The "OWNER" of the VCC emulator has posted here, but not in a while.

The author was paid by the "OWNER" of VCC to write the emulator and when the "OWNER" canceled the larger project the emulator work was stopped.

Due to the requirements and skills needed to continue development are so much different than the skills of people here I have yet to even consider telling the "OWNER" that we might have a candidate to work on VCC. I am just a user but I traced back in old [CoCo] messages what IMHO the "OWNER" would require to allow someone to work on it.

There are additional pieces of documentation here:

It’s like a mystery as to what happened to the original author and who currently has the source code. Since there is no one supporting it “officially”, and apparently whoever has the source is not going to open source it, unless the original author can be contacted, even though according to the article that is/was the wishes of the original author... the outlook looks bleak for much community support for it.

Out of curiosity, does anyone on this list know the official “status” or fate of VCC? Will there be any more improvements? Will it ever get opened sourced?
