[Coco] colorburst

Robert, did you look at the price of the unit? It's no wonder they never sold.
I saw one in the very first Rainbow I bought and had no idea at the time what they were. Then after I learned a few things about my Coco and begin to have a desire for an MPI, I remembered seeing the ColorBurt and went through my Rainbows and found it. I looked at the price, then closed the magazine.
At $79, the Tandy MPI was less than 1/10th the price compared to the ColorBurst's $999. Yes, it has a lot of cool stuff, but at that time, I just wanted an MPI :-)
The Color Burst appeared in at least 2 Rainbows (I never owned the one you referenced), so it must have been a real product.

I'm guessing, based on the radio silence here on the list, and the fact
that
google comes up with nothing good, that this thing never existed.
Which is a
little disconcerting... I'm used to con's in the internet
age, but was the half
page ad in the rainbow a fake? Or at best maybe a
prototype that never got any
orders...
