I wondered about that, but assumed the CM-8 was too old for that. I know my big industrial Sony Trinitron monitor (with touch screen, amplifier for speakers, etc.) has a degaussing button on it :)

I guess as long as the monitor doesn't die from the power cycles, it's worth a shot.
