[Coco] [OT} OS-9 on Raspberry Pi

Well when droid does & Win-does and everyone else just mack's-it-do-it somehow or another.. Its interesting to remember how, at one point or another in the life of the OS platform and it's versions, it's almost like someone took hammers and pounded function into it sorta like a parent whipping a misbehaving child till he starts acting right. Eventually they matured and started behaving better and better. Windows has been around a long time and some 'kids' mature better than others.

Going off this metaphor I would regard my CoCo as the 'runt' that wasn't the brightest or the fastest but always hung in there and did whatever you told it to do.... good lil CoCo.

Exactly.

So many Linux and Mac users bag Windows saying it crashes all the time unlike their OS but they negate to mention that Windows works across many PC configurations and runs so many programs that have spanned over a long time through several generations of Windows (even DOS)

It's amazing that it works as well as it does.

Does Linux or MAc offer the same amount of support and diversity?

Nick

If you doubt software developers would do something that silly, check out these appendixes from the book "The Old New Thing" by Raymond Chen (a microsoft programmer and bug chaser). Right or wrong, Microsoft has put a lot of effort into making things work even when vendors do stupid things.
Interesting stories and examples of how hard it is to manage issues in the worlds most used OS.
