I have been doing exactly that for at least 2 years Tom.  But I don't send 
them to a local printer, I send them to a Brother Laser thats on the 
coco's desk by sending the processed data back down the same usb extension 
cable that drivewire uses, to that printer plugged into the same USB hub 
the coco's dw cable is plugged into after a seriel to USB conversion.

An early version of those bash scripts is available on my web page in the 
sig. Customize them to your hearts content.
