Create and mount new disk:

DRIVE X,"TEST.DSK",NEW

that will create a formatted .dsk image and mount it, replace the X with
the drive number of your choice.

For my test, I used: DRIVE 1, "TEST.DSK",NEW
Which mounts the new image to drive 1.

I issued the SDC command to turn off virtual disk support for drive 0:

DRIVE 0, OFF

Which also assigns DRIVE 0 to your floppy hardware.

Then I tried backing up from real floppy - drive 0 to the image on the SDC
- drive 1

BACKUP 0 To 1

Think that about covers it...

Only if SDC-DOS puts it there. I didn't.
