[Coco] CoCo SDC question

That's understandable, and really no need to apologize. I think some  
issues I'm having personally might have me appear a little more on edge  
than I thought - and for that, I apologize.

Here's the nutshell:

My system is as follows:

512k CoCo3 with 63C09
MPI w/ PAL upgrade
FD-501 in slot 4
SDC in slot 3
3.5" floppy using 720k media

Slot switch on 3

Created a new floppy image in the root SDC folder called test.dsk.

Real floppy is drive 0
Test image on drive 1


Disk image Format time is about 27 seconds


Backup from Floppy Disk to SDC:

2 min 7 sec (average over 3 tries)

Several times the back up process gave me an I/O error.

Darren's tests show this should be about 47 seconds - and yes, I did try  
it with VERIFY OFF just in case.


Backup from SDC to floppy disk:

5.5 sec.... None of the three attempts gave me any I/O errors.


I tried it with two different floppy drives and two different cables. When  
using normal floppy to floppy backups, I get times around 1 min 25 sec.

How's that for weirdness?
