I'm "messing" around with mess right now. I hate the newer interface ever since they started using it., I'm trying to get a GUI to work with it. I like instant access to menus and such.

I have mingw setup for building nitros9, though I may need to do another install as that one is tied into mercurial unless I can get around that?

It's at the bottom of the page: mame0152s.zip

They use MinGW to build on Windows.  This is actually a great toolset for
building native Win32 applications with a pure Unix toolset.  There are
instructions and download links for the tools here:
