[Coco] CoCoSDC: Using RS-DOS for new .DSK image file size?

What does DSKINIT do compared to CoCo's DSKINI? I gather it's issuing TRACK FORMAT commands to the drive controller chip, and CoCoSDC does not expand on those (only WRITE commands) which is the issue?
