[Coco] Sdc copy, and multi pak upgrade question

Thanks for that info.

I opened up my "new" CoCo3 and MPI this morning and couldn't see any signs
of any upgrades (both warranty void stickers were intact). They both seem
to power up OK. The peek returns 255 so I believe no upgrade is in place. I
don't actually have a need for the MPI (I have no ROM cartridges) so it's
not an issue at the moment. Will have to save my pennies for the Cloud9
upgrade.

I have also been playing with my new CoCoSDC which seems to work but it
REALLY needs a case if plugged directly into the CoCo3. I thought it might
sit better vertically in the MPI but realised, before I turned it on, that
the expansion connector is not keyed and it is possible to put in both
ways. Can someone confirm the orientation of the card in the MPI for me
please? (ie components facing the front or rear?)

Also re the CoCoSDC, does anyone have established CoCoSDC SD card images
that they would like to share? A library of different images might be a
useful addition to the archives.

Finally, on boot the CoCo3 says it has Extended Color Basic v 2.0. Was that
the last version?

Cheers

Scott

I checked mine with instructions from the Cloud9 website (quoted below). I
ordered the upgrade from them and it takes no more than 5 mins to upgrade.
...and yeah, I hear you about Coco 3s not being too common in Aust these
days. Took me a while to get my setup!
Eddie P."Here's a simple test that will determine if your Mulit-Pak has
already been upgraded to work with a CoCo 3.
>From BASIC's OK prompt, type PRINT PEEK(&HFF90) and press ENTER. If 126 is
returned then the Multi-Pak has
been upgraded. If it returns 255 then it has NOT been upgraded.">
