[Coco] DriveWire 4 - NitrOS-9 Floppy *BOOTSTRAP!*

By any chance have you had any luck with this yet Bill? If not no worries I
guess NitrOS-9 will catch up eventually, though I find it humorous that I
can do something in HDBDOS that I can't do in NitrOS9.

The becker build is actually built into the dw read & write asms now. ALL
machines and levels done from one source with the exceptions of the atari
and other "non-cocos" I think those are seperate, but I may be wrong and
they're there too.

I just don't know if Boisy made the lwtools changes in the dw4 stuff as
there were slight differences in the syntax from the old toolshed code. That
was the problem up until recently. But a lot of stuff didn't get updated,
especialy if it wasn't being built anyway. In looking over a fresh pull, it
looks like the current makfiles use "LEVEL" instead of "NITROS9", but not
really sure. I'll have to look further

I guess I'm going to have to break down and learn the format for those
makefiles. They're very similar to the ones I use in CK's "make" in my OS9 C
compiler. Just a lot more options. I would love to see some of those options
in the C compiler, it would make compiling large multi-file programs (ie.
most of my projects) much easier than the current hoops that have to be
jumped through. Though the Krieder make is much more versatile than the MW
make.

It's just finding the time between the "massive" project I'm currently
working on, the "DW4 Starter Kit" (yes I'm still doing it) and getting all
my current boots switched over to the latest repo which actually seems to be
running a little smoother... or maybe just my imagination.

Yes, its probably all in the makefiles... I am no expert with make or
terribly familiar with how NitrOS9 builds but I think if you figure out how
the becker series are generated that would provide an example, since these
are also just substituting the stock dwio for another variant.

Due to the large installed base of users with standard DW3 ROMs, I don't
think there will come a time when we can just build the turbo version.
Already we have "standard" and becker building several disks in the nightly
process.. there are also some other dwio variants besides "dw4" around that
do not get built. Maybe someone can come up with a better system so we
don't have to generate so many disks, not sure though since each boot track
for each respective IO mechanism is
different. ?
