Yes, 720k disk BEING WRITTEN TO AS A 720k disk is fine. That works because 
the 1.44M drive switches write current down to the appropriate value and 
the controller writes at 250kps data rate.

If you try to write a 720k disk at 1.44 write current and data rate, your 
results will be undefined.
