[Coco] Why there are no SS35 disks in nitrOS-9 distro ?

Felipe,
I agree, there should be 35 trk SSDD images in the Nitro repo. As it is, if you are setting up Nitro for a real Coco system, these disks cannot be backed up on a "standard" Coco system. Admittedly, most drives sold by RS after the FD-501 were 40trk, DSDD capable but RSDOS was not. When I was first setting up my "new" Coco system last year and trying to get everything going, one of the 1st things I had to do was to create some 35trk SSDD images to copy to real disks so I could boot my system and my system had a 5.25 40trk DSDD, 5.25 80trk DSDD and 3.5 80trk DsDD along with 2 25meg ST-225 HDs.
Once I got the 1st succesful boot, I then had to get drivewire going and to boot from an RSDOS partitioned VHD via RG's boot system used in the Vcc package, you must have a 35trk SSDD image to copy to Disk 255 for booting. I find that most people have a fear of creating a new boot disk or they just don't want to. It was part of the OS-9 scare that existed in the 80s. Boot disks & directories... It scared the hell out of some.
So... Yes, there needs to be 35trk SSDD dsk images in the repo. At least in the standard boot disks using standard disk drivers. If you can boot from Drivewire... you can boot any size and alter it to your needs.

Hi,

I don't understand why there are no SS35 disks for NitrOS-9. Although I can
make one in 5 minutes just changing the makefiles from a fresh mercurial
checkout I still don't understand why they aren't there.

Ok, level 2 I could agree but level 1 ? How many coco1/2 with double sided
disks do you have out there ? And to get worse, those DS40 don't boot on
MESS. So whoever is coming to coco scene just don't understand why he
cannot use nitrOS-9 on MESS.

I just made a SS35 for level 1 2.3.9 disk and all CMDS and SYS files fits
into a single disk. I needed 2 more disks in order to have the DEFS and
NITROS9 modules folder.
