On Friday 05 April 2013 20:36:26 Bob Devries did opine:

No I do not know, Bob. OS9 has a T0S (sectors) for track 0, but I've never
played with a track 0 that wasn't the same density as the rest of the disks
tracks. But it might make for some interesting experimentation.

If I am interpreting what I recall reading in the docs, that would entail
switching the circuit from 250 kilobaud to 125 kilobaud and changing the
code for straight rather than NRZ. My problem is that I do not recall ever
seeing any references to such a control in the disk controller docs.

IF the 1773 can be switched is another detail I don't have at my
fingertips. If it can, then the problem is possibly going to be the
finding of an available byte to hide the switch data in, AND making sure it
gets written to the 1773 on a T0 access.

We should have a Vollyballocracy. We elect a six-pack of presidents.
Each one serves until they screw up, at which point they rotate.

A pen in the hand of this president is far more
dangerous than a gun in the hands of 200 million
          law-abiding citizens.
