Assuming that you correctly assembled the driver and descriptor, you still will 
get I/O errors on "drive 255" unless that virtual drive was formatted as an OS-9 
drive.

Since you can't yet be sure that your OS-9 modules are working correctly, the 
safest method for testing would be to backup an OS-9 floppy to virtual drive 255 
under HDBDOS. Then you can try reading the drive under OS-9.
If you can read it, then you should be able to write/format the drive under OS-9.
