The RFM feature in DW4 (not complete) will allow mounting server
directories or even ftp/network shared directories as regular devices
that can be directly accessed, however this is OS9 specific.

For basic, it would be technical possible within some limitations,
just never had anyone ask about it.  Since BASIC has fixed, small
limits on disk size and file names, there would be some weird issues
to sort out.  Most people use tools like Luis's coco disk tool or the
Toolshed for manipulating basic disk images.
