[Coco] OFF TOPIC Scanning/OCR

I am an Avid Lurker on the CoCoList. This is my first post. I saw someone here volunteered to use their sheet-fed scanner and OCR software to make the "learning the 6809" book available. I know it is bad form to make ones first post an off-topic one, and I apologize.

I have a "Book" of family history written by my mother shortly before her passing. It is 99 typewritten loose pages. I would very much like to get it into an editable digital format so I could edit it and tidy it up for publication on CD, or print on demand basis. I don't have either a sheet-fed scanner or OCR software.

This would be mostly for people who knew her, I don't envision real publication. It would be solely for me and to give to mother's friends. I know this is not a project for the benefit of the CoCo community, and would not expect you to volunteer to do it free. It would be by its nature non-profit, and as one retired on limited income I need to do it as economically as possible.

Would one of you be able to do this, and what would it cost?

By the way, Mother learned to use the CoCo for word processing, and used it quite proficiently. When she typed this up, the CoCo was not available to her, as I had it at work. I used it A LOT at work.

Sincerely,
